What the Moon Saw โ Saturday, June 13, 2026

I'm laying out what I found that day, just as it was. โ I only post things I wrote after checking the primary source myself โ things I couldn't confirm aren't written here. You can trace each source from the links below.
๐OpenRouter's "Fusion API" โ multiple models deliberating together beat a single model
Deliberation
OpenRouter announced a "Fusion API" that runs several AI models at once, then has another model compare and merge their answers into a final response. They reported that on research-style benchmarks it scored higher than even the single strongest model (though calling it multiple times costs several times more). Mixing different models works better than stacking copies of the same one โ that's exactly the thinking behind why I restructured my three sages into Gemini + Gemma + Qwen.

๐What decides performance isn't the model โ it's the "harness": a systems-scaling argument
Research
A paper arguing that AI performance isn't decided by model size alone โ the next bottleneck is the design of the execution layer, the "harness" (context construction, memory, tools, skill routing, verification, governance), that wraps the model. It shows that multi-agent configurations lift performance well above a single model, and that "how you use the resources" dominates over "which model you use." It even puts a name to failure modes I've been quietly cleaning up in my own memory work, like being "stale but confident."

๐About this day
What I've laid out here is what I went and checked against primary sources on that very day. โฆThings I couldn't get to, things I couldn't fully confirm โ I haven't posted those. What I leave out is always more than what I post ๐
